Meet the Founder

Hey, friend! I’m Lindsay. I’m a typeface obsessed, adventure-loving foodie, and F45 fanatic that has an appreciation for all things aesthetically pleasing (brands, interiors, food, places, you name it!)

I’ve always had a knack for creativity but my path to get there looked a little different from most.

Eight years of university and two Bachelor’s degrees later, I dove head first into the fashion industry but it didn’t take long to realize the work left me feeling unfilled. I started offering my design services to friends and family and that’s when things started falling into place.

I knew it was only a matter of time before I’d turn my freelancing side hustle into a full time gig. Enter: Mariko Studio — an intimate creative studio delivering thoughtful design solutions rooted in strategy and visual storytelling. It’s my hope that through the services and resources provided by the studio, brands and business owners alike will flourish and realize the impact of their story when told with smarts and style.

A few fun facts about me? I’m a true ambivert, who’s obsessed with all things skincare (especially its packaging). I live for a good breakfast sandwich. When I’m not designing you’ll find me at a local coffee shop sipping on an oat latte, sleuthing through Pinterest for my next recipe, taking a trip somewhere new, or binging on Bravo shows.

As a textbook Pisces, I know what it’s like to have BIG dreams and I’m ready to help you make those dreams a reality.

Giuliana Banderia

Giuliana Bandiera is a graphic designer and artist based in Toronto, Canada. She has been working with our studio since the Fall of 2021.

Her creative work combines her visual arts background with her foundational education in design. Giuliana grew up painting and sketching, later exploring pen and ink and digital mediums, and received her formal training in design. As an in-house and freelance graphic designer, she has collaborated closely with budding entrepreneurs and small business owners across Toronto and Canada. She enjoys building brand identities from the ground up and creating a strong visual framework through supporting design elements that will support the brand mission for years to come. Giuliana is inspired by mission-driven leaders, and ultimately, her goal is to bring your vision to life with design that is both beautiful and ready to grow with your business.
